The students of Priyadarshini Institute of Science and Technology for Women enthusiastically participated in a Mock Youth Parliament Session organized on 23rd November 2024. The event aimed to simulate parliamentary proceedings, fostering an understanding of the democratic process and enhancing students' debating, decision-making, and leadership skills.
Objective of the Event:
- To provide students with insights into the workings of the Indian parliamentary system.
- To encourage critical thinking, public speaking, and active participation in discussions on national and societal issues.
- To nurture leadership qualities and responsible citizenship among students.The participants were assigned roles as Members of Parliament (MPs), including the Speaker, Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition, and various cabinet ministers.
The agenda for the session included discussions on pressing national issues like women empowerment, education reforms, and environmental sustainability
- The students actively engaged in spirited debates, presenting their viewpoints and defending their positions with well-researched arguments.
- The Speaker ensured decorum and adherence to parliamentary protocols, making the session as realistic as possible.
- The event concluded with insightful feedback from the faculty, who commended the students for their preparation, eloquence, and enthusiasm. They also highlighted the importance of youth engagement in governance and policymaking.
