About the R&D CELL:

      Research and Development (R&D) plays a critical role in the process of innovation. It is primarily an investment and effort in technology and future capabilities which is transformed into new products, processes, and services. Priyadarshini Institute of Science and Technology for Women (PRIW) has taken a quantum leap into Research and Development initiatives in recent years, constantly encouraging faculty and students for out-of- the-box thinking and generating new and revolutionary ideas to bring about societal change.

PRIW Research Centre put in motion proactive applied research to help solve the technical and scientific problems of the industries and defense organizations. It focuses on research areas related to educational research and develop tools and techniques to address the needs of a university, faculty members and prospective students.

PRIW is devoted to enhancing knowledge through research across all academic disciplines. Focus areas include Nanotechnology, Environment, Aerospace and Dynamics, CAD/CAM, CNC Machining, Embedded Systems and Low Power VLSI Digital System Design. Emphasis is also being laid on Business Analytics, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Wireless technology and Multimedia for video, text processing and Next Generation Networks.

Objectives of the Committee

• To motivate the faculty and students towards research and innovation.
• To create centers of Excellence in the areas of research and development.
• To work closely with the industrial needs that eventually will result in new or improved products, processes, systems or services that can increase productivity of the industry.
• To foster collaborations for mutual benefits and to maximize Industry - Institute connectivity.
• To establish collaboration with other universities, public and private sectors and identify R&D projects including consultancy services which could be undertaken at the institution.
• To promote research in various departments of the Institute.
• To ensure smooth functioning and effective Management of R&D at the institution.
• To organize and promote skill development trainings in emerging areas to enhance the employability skills of the students.
• To promote self employability skills by conducting various activities under Center for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE).

Priyadarshini Institute of Science and Technology for Women (PRIW) recognized the importance of R&D in the vertical growth of the institution and established the R&D cell to focus on the scientific and industrial research in the various disciplines of Engineering. The PRIW R&D cell is a nominated committee consisting of Professors from various programs of Engineering. The organizational structure consists of Advisor, Chairman, Dean and Coordinators for facilitating the routine functioning of the cell.
